Mentors Explained
BoomStartup is built on the bedrock of massive doses of mentoring.
Mentors come in various varieties:
Investor-Mentors
Mentors who also supply initial investment capital to participating startups are called investor-mentors. These mentors have a unique relationship with the program. They are duty-bound to spend time with the participant companies.
Mentors
The program attracts some of Utah's best mentors. These investors, experts, specialists, service providers, etc. freely give of their time to help the BoomStartup participating companies during the program. They may not charge for their services during the run of their program. They are allowed special access to the companies, and vice versa.
Guests
The program invites various guests to visit the program and participate. There is no formal relationship with the program and the interaction tends to be "one time only" or occasional.
Investors-Only
These individuals are only supplying investment capital and will not be under any obligation to spend time mentoring participating companies. However, investors-only may from time-to-time mentor ad hoc to participating companies.
